The Des Moines Marina is one of the largest public marinas on Puget Sound, and the surrounding waterfront district includes restaurants, retail buildings, and boat-related businesses that operate seasonally at higher occupancy. Just north of downtown, Highline College brings classroom buildings, dormitories, and event space into the city's fire watch picture, and Des Moines Creek Business Park to the north adds warehouse and light-industrial buildings near Sea-Tac Airport.
