University Place Fire Watch Officers — West Pierce Fire & Rescue Compliance

University Place: Shared Fire Service, Property-Specific Direction

University Place is served by West Pierce Fire & Rescue, formed from the former Lakewood and University Place departments. That shared fire-service provider does not make every municipal permitting or approval process identical. Confirm the site address and responsible code official before planning an alarm or sprinkler shutdown.

An occupied condominium building and a neighborhood commercial premises can have very different patrol footprints. Identify the floors or units affected, entrances available after hours and any locked equipment rooms. On a property with detached structures, include the route between buildings instead of assuming a single corridor patrol covers the entire impairment.

Ask the responsible official which areas need coverage and what conditions permit it to end. SEF documents the patrols performed during the agreed coverage period. Keep those logs with the impairment notice and restoration testing records; no public West Pierce source reviewed establishes that a particular log format automatically earns approval or removes the need for the owner to communicate with local officials.
